I made these cookies for breakfast as I wanted to have a bit of a change from the usual smoothies and porridge. The cookies are completely egg and dairy free. I got them out the oven and within literally 30 minutes, the tribe and I ate them all. None left haha! I guess they were a winner. They were chewy on the outside and soft on the inside, delicious!
We lived in a granny flat for almost 3 years so I was never able to style a nursery properly for Cruz. Then when we moved in to our new home in August, Cruz has a toddler room and Winter Rose well we just chucked the baby furniture in her room. She was on 6 weeks old then. The rooms needed painting which was on our to do list, so we thought there was no point decorating until we could afford to to that first. Then a few months past because you know – LIFE – newborn, toddler, adjusting to our new home.

Eco Tan was created in 2011 by the founder Sonya Driver. Sonya’s sister was diagnosed with skin cancer caused by the harmful Australian suns UV rays. They both wanted to still get a tan, but without the harm of the dangerous UV rays. They decided to get spray tans together instead of tanning in the sun, soon realising that the ingredients in most of the tans on the market were just as harmful to the skin and the body, as the skin is the bodies largest organ. So Sonya started experimenting with natural and organic ingredients in her home on the Gold Coast. In 2011, Eco Tan made Australian history by becoming the first and only tanning manufacturer to be certified organic by the Organic Food Chain under the Australian government. How amazing is that?
As a pregnant mumma, I am super cautious about what products I put on my skin. I like to stick to all natural and organic ingredients where possible, causing as less harm to my baby as possible. Plus I want to look after myself too. I found out about this Pink Himalayan salt scrub about 3 months ago and have been using it ever since. I have shared my love for this product on my Instagram and social media platforms. I love it.
You apply a small amount of the scrub in your hands and work your way around your dry body rubbing it in a clockwise motion. Its smells of coconut, peppermint and lemongrass, argh its actually divine. I even use it as an exfoliator on my face. I like to spend a little more time on my bottom, thighs, elbows and knees. I leave it on for 5 minutes so my skin soaks up the moisture from the coconut oil. Then i just jump in the shower like normal and rinse it off. It leaves a light oil coat behind on your skin, leaving it feeling amazing! If I am going to tan with the Winter Skin I normally do this process the day before tanning.
While I am pregnant I still have special events that I have to attend. I want to glow and feel my absolute best. So I have been using the Winter Skin gradual tan lotion, the night before an event. If I want to be darker I will just do two coats, one two nights before and the other the night before. I find one is enough for me as I don’t like it to dark. I highly recommend this beauty product, it truly moisturises your skin and leaves such a beautiful colour behind. I am obsessed, I know you will be to.
I sometimes use this lotion when I am feeling a little drained, nothing like a bit of tan to make you feel good about yourself. I am so so please I have found an amazing product and can still hug my babes, knowing its not harmful to their skin either.
Both of these products I have reviewed, will now be staples in my beauty routine from now on. I love them both so much. I look forward to purchasing some more of Sonya’s Eco skincare products in the near future.

Just 10 days ago the amazing Clare & Danny (creators of Bib & Spoon), dropped off a package to my front door step. Inside the package was the delicious goodness of organic and chemical free, made with love, toddler food for Cruzie. Wow this couldn’t of came at a better time in our lives.
The toddler meals came stored in a conveniently packaged container, which you could stack and store in the freezer. The baby purées came in easy to store, resealable bags. Reading the ingredients on these meals I was blown away. It was all just good food for my little guy to eat. No additives and no chemicals. Tick tick.
Now you all know I love creating all my food for Cruz as I love to know what’s in it (except when his Aunties or grandparents look after him). So I was very pleased to know that these frozen meals were filled with the goodness I would personally give to my son. Plus life gets so crazy at times that I can honestly say, that grabbing something that is healthy for your child, straight from your freezer, can certainly come in handy st times and a win win for us parents too (especially when you are in a rush to get your little babe down for the night).
Clare and Danny are the Brisbane based, creators of Bib & Spoon. They are the parents to beautiful twin girls, Olivia and Hannah. They were on the hunt for delicious, fresh produced meals for their babes and could not seem to find anywhere that sourced these type of meals. So they got an idea, teamed up with a dietitian, who then helped to make their dream become a reality. They are now helping out busy mummy and daddy’s and feeding the mouths of lots of hungry baby and toddlers around Australia. Congratulations to you both for chasing your dreams and making it work. Even though the purées state 6 and 8 months, sneaking extra fruit and vegetables into our little picky, toddlers food, is a cheeky way to give them the extra goodness in their diet and bulk up their daily intake with the natural vitamins and minerals they require to grow!
Below is a little idea you can do with the pre made purées.
Zucchini & Pear Oats
Zucchini and Pear Oats
1cup almond milk
1 cup organic raw oats
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp organic vanilla essence
2 frozen bib and spoon zucchini and pear slabs
In a saucepan place 1 cup or almond milk or milk of choice, add in 1 cup of organic raw oats
Sprinkle I’m cinnamon, nutmeg and a little vanilla bean or essence

Like I said in my previous blog post, little did David know that falling pregnant was just the beginning of my crazy, hormonal emotional rollacoster that he was about to jump on with me. Over these weeks I remember crying a lot! Crying because there were tears of happiness, crying because I was bloated, crying because I couldn’t stop throwing up or feeling like I was on a boat sea sick, crying because Dave didn’t put the garbage out (no joke) and crying because Cruz did something ultimately adorable! Who the efff am I? I started the NO SEX drout too. I didn’t want to be touched not even cuddled. I was on a total high at times too as I am so pleased that Cruzie Poozie is going to have a brother or sister.
Exercise, hmmm well honestly it dropped from 4 HIIT classes a week to just one or two. I felt like every opportunity I got to lay down and rest I did as I was so ill and nauseated. I did still push through the sickness and walk every day even if it was just 30minutes. I did this first thing in the morning as my nausea was the worst at night. I also did a floor pregnancy “booty and thigh’s” workout on youtube twice a week and I did Katy Appleton’s Pregnancy Yoga three times a week, which I just get off you tube and play through my Apple TV or laptop. I found the pregnancy yoga a huge help and the breathing really helped with the nausea and helped me to relax.
With eating I didn’t like ANYTHING I normally like to eat so I had to find alternatives to make sure I was nourishing my body. I liked tuna and fish to begin with but then about week 7 I started to hate eating meat, eggs and fish. So I looked to vegan options for nourishment. I purchased some Franjos Kitchen Pregnancy Cookies and Crackers to give me something to munch on. I actually have become addicted to the crackers, they are made from charcoal and organic ingredients, I have these a lot for lunch with a little salad. I did LOVE salad and fresh juices that was made by others. Loved sweet potato chips. So I pretty much turned into a Sweet Potato.
I spoke to my good friend Tania from Naturally Nourished who is a naturopath and she put me on some Zinc and Activated B6 vitamins that really helped with the nausea and that cut it back to just the evening. Gave me more energy too. I loved to sip on Mama Body Tea too. The Mama Body Tea has a Soothing Tea which is great for bloating after eating and they also have a Morning Wellness Tea which is made especially for Pregnant Mamas to help ease the symptoms of Pregnancy.
BUMP STYLE -Well firstly I went and brought myself some overalls as my belly was super bloated so I hated wearing shorts. The overalls in the shoot are just from Kmart for $15 and the blouse is a Spell & The Collective I love Spell as you can wear their clothing not pregnant and pregnant as they just hang so beautifully. I had a wedding to and I also wore a Spell two piece.

That’s what I love about Voome, it’s designed to target individuals that already have a bit of a grasp on their nutrition and fitness and just need a little motivation maintaining it. With their meal planners, great recipe collections and workout tools, Voome are able to accommodate a whole range of individual appetites and lifestyles.
As a busy working mummy, I love the convenience of the meal plans and shopping lists they have to offer, plus the variety and ability to change recipes and ingredients around if you dislike anything on the plan..
Back to the challenge. On the weekend I hit the supermarket with my printed shopping list (argh thanks Voome for having this tool, it’s seriously the best) and started shopping. I found everything I needed in most of the outside aisles and a few extra bits in the health food aisle.
My goal was to spend just $10 per meal. Depending on what ingredients the meal required, some cost only $8 per dinner and some were nearly $10. My total shopping for the five meals came to $46.40. I am extremely happy with this, David and I eat pretty simply, so we were super excited that it was kind to our bank accounts but we got to try new foods. Plus, we were still sticking to our clean eating goals!
The five dinners that were chosen were –
Soba Noodle, Tofu & Cabbage Salad with Ginger Dressing
Rainbow Vegetable Salad
Chicken Rice Bowl
Quinoa, Feta, Lemon & Chilli Stuffed Capsicum
Burghul & Chickpea Salad with Egg
My favourite was the Chicken rice bowl and David’s was the Soba Noodle, Tofu & Cabbage Salad with Ginger Dressing ( I think that was Cruzies too).
As you can see all the recipes (listed above) from the meal plan have a good mixture of protein, carbs and good fats. This is really important to me so I can acheive my nutritional goals. Each recipe provides you with tips on how to change the recipe up a little, for example if the recipe is made with chicken and you want to change it up, it gives advice as to what other meats will be best suited to the flavours in the dish. It also provides you with tips on how to create the dish in a fast timely manner, this is great for the days when you finish work and the whole family is sitting there “HANGRY” waiting for dinner.
Living on a budget and still creating delicious healthy meals from the Voome fitness and nutritional program was totally achievable for our family. Sticking to our budget definitely will help us financially as we are saving for our family home. So it’s another win for us. Proud to say that I have completed another challenge proving that you can eat healthy yummy foods and easily afford it! Looking forward to meal prepping and planning next weeks meals. My healthy eating habits are back in action!
