Storksak Noa Baby Bag. Available from Baby Luno.

Packing my hospital bag for my first pregnancy was very exciting. I Pinterested all these hospital bag lists and I was so excited with what I packed into my suitcase, ready for my babies arrival. When the time came, my husband grabbed the bags and brought them to hospital with us. I thought I was so organised, but boy was I wrong. I had really over packed! I had so much stuff that I actually couldn’t find what I needed, when I needed it. I had to much of the stuff I didn’t need and not enough of what I actually really needed. I was so overwhelmed. So I made a promise to myself that next time I would pack a little lighter and bring more of the essentials rather than all the extras.

I have put together a list of what I need and wished I had put in the first time, for both my hospital bag and my babies nappy bag.

June’s #mamalusthave

The winter has finally arrived here in Queensland. Which means extra snuggles and storybooks in bed with my Cruzie, but it also means snot, colds, lack of sleep due to the snot and did I mention snot? Yes it’s “cold & flu” season here in, but we are coping… Just haha. That is why I choose winter as my flat lay theme.

This is my monthly #mamalusthaves flat lay for June 2016.

1. A great Bonds trackie pant for your bubba.

They are the ultimate companion for a chilly day (thanks Bonds). I am a big lover of a bonds trackie for myself because they are so damn comfy, so it’s a must have for my baby boy. Plus Cruz can crawl and get up to mischief in them.

2. A trendy cardigan

Again I choose Bonds for this. I loved the simplicity of this neutral winter wooly cardi. It is a great basics staple for  Cruz wardrobe. Super warm and great for layering.

Bonus that if I have a girl next it is a great unisex colour to be worn on either sex.

3. A good book

Love snuggling in bed on these cold days reading books with Cruz.

We are currently loving Kate Richie’s I Just Couldn’t Wait to Meet You, such a sweet book to read to your bubba to be or child. It tells a story of a a couples pregnancy and their anticipation of the birth of their child and how much they cannot wait to meet them. The illustrations are super cute too.

4. Massage oil

We use this as part of our night time rituals (we all hope our bubs sleep through), we are currently loving Tiny Tonics Sleepy Time massage oil.  It’s imbued with a special blend of essential oils to help your little one settle before bed, lulling baby into a calm and restful sleep.

We use this after bath time, helps Cruz to relax and I truly believes it helps to settle him when he is upset or irritated. He gets very irritated with his snotty nose at the moment.

I have been using this oil before his day time sleep too, to help him try sleep a little longer to heal from his cold.

5. Brauer Sleep

NOTE – If you are concerned about your child’s health, always talk to your healthcare professional.

I have been using this since Cruz was 6 months old. Cruz is a great sleeper but occasionally when our bubs get unwell or are just over stimulated we have some rough nights. I use this to help settle Cruz before bedtime or during the night when he wont settle.

I’m loving everything in this Brauer baby range. The have Homepathic remedies for all your bubbas needs, teething, belly aches, cold and flu and my favourite sleep aid.

6. Vapour balm

Like I said there has been so much snot of late, this Archer Naturals brand is a #nonasties vapour balm created by a naturopath. I have been putting this on Cruz socks since he was 6 weeks old. This vapour balm is a 100% natural, safe & effective balm, with the natural vapours of Eucalyptus, Peppermint & Lavender.

7. Breast Pump

Cruz is 8.5 months old and I will be returning to work in 8 weeks, so I’m pumping up some extra milk for my little man. I have also been freezing some EBM and putting them in his smoothies. I love my Medela Swing Breast Pump. It’s easy to fit in my hand bag and I love that you don’t have to be attached to a charger. The only thing I would change with the pump is I would buy it again I would buy a double pump, if only I knew about them. Express both boobs at once.

All products listed above were purchased by myself. This isn’t a sponsored blog post.

Happy Monday, big love, Alice xx
